Indian image brought here from Ceylon in 1290.There are

Chedit Luang
is situated in town.It was built in 1411
A.D. At one time, Wat Chedi Luang housed the revered
Emerald Buddha image now enshrined in Bangkok's Wat
Phra Kaeo.The big Chedit was damaged by an earthquake
in 1545 A.D.and has never been retired. |

U-Mong

situated within the forest near Doi Suthep. It was established in
1355-1385 by King Kuna as a meditation place for a famous monk.
The compound has a rare statue of the starving Buddha next to the
Chedi.There’s an open Zoo in the back of the temple grounds. |

city about 10 km.
The Safari offers a series of trails over three main zones.
The Jaguar Trail offers visitors a walk of around 1,200 meters
and is open during the day and at night. The
Savanna Safari and Predator Prowl areas use rail cars to move
visitors around. This
is the ideal opportunity to observe wildlife at night. |
